Red wines have a wonderfully complex bouquet and flavours, which have slowly developed in the cold cellar as the wine has gently aged. This ageing produces myriads of different volatile compounds, which we awaken by slowly bringing the wine to a comfortable room temperature, before opening. It is at this stage that wine is often spoilt, as rapid and uneven heating can cause spoilage. Although wine experts usually recommend a 24 hour warming process, our Therm au Rouge Wine Warmer can achieve safe and gentle warming in just 5 minutes and is recommended by wine expert and broadcaster Andrew Jones.

But as wine expert and broadcaster Andrew Jones says " Chilly Reds are a thing of the past thanks to the Therm au Rouge" The Therm au Rouge red wine warmer is a sophisticated, patented sleeve, which slides over a bottle of wine. It contains a special gel, which when activated, begins a gentle warming process which travels throughout the gel and in doing so, warms the wine gently and evenly throughout. There is no chance of any spoilage or loss of flavour through uneven or direct overheating.
It takes approximately 5 minutes to warm a light bodied red wine, such as a claret and 12 minutes for a full bodied red, such as a Burgundy.
The wine is then ready to serve at the perfect temperature to enjoy its full flavours and bouquets, After use, the Therm au Rouge can be reactivated by popping it into boiling water for about 10 minutes, when the gel becomes clear. Once cooled, it is ready to use again. For safety reasons, it is sold in the deactivated form.
