Everyone loves receiving an Easter Egg - but it's great fun and much more personal to make them yourself.

Our simple moulds allow you to choose your favourite chocolate and make one of three sizes of Easter Egg. It's so simple that your children could do it when they break for Easter.

And then, fill your egg with something special and ice a special message on the shell - Happy Easter!

Our Easter Egg moulds are made from food-grade plastic and have the usual crinkly lines moulded into them.

You can use any slab chocolate to make the shell - milk chocolate, dark chocolate or white chocolate.

In fact, we used Cadbury's Milk, Black & Green's Dark Chocolate and Nestle's White Chocolate, all bought in large bars from our local supermarket.

We carefully warmed the chocolate in a bowl in the microwave, until it had just melted and then tipped a little into the egg shell, moving the mould around to fully coat the interior.

We then stood the mould in the fridge until the chocolate had set.

We then carefully melted the chocolate again in the microwave.

We removed the mould from the fridge and carefully brushed the chocolate (using a pastry brush) over the hardened chocolate in the mould, so building up the thickness of the shell.

We again put the shell back into the fridge to set and repeated the procedure twice more.

Once the shell is hard, remove from the fridge and warm the mould gently with your hands for a couple of minutes.

You should them be able to flex the mould off the shell to leave the egg intact.

If you make two halves, you can put a small gift or small eggs inside and seal the halves together with a little melted chocolate brushed around their rims.

If you have an icing set, it is quite simply to pipe on a personal message in icing sugar.

The moulds are available in 3 different sizes:
Small - makes an egg about 3½" (9 cm) long;
Medium - makes an egg about 4¼" (11 cm) long; and
Large - makes an egg about 5½" (14 cm) long.

The moulds can be reused many, many times provided they are used carefully.
